NDRF Conducts Mock Rescue Operations at Suncity
With an aim to create resilience and better preparedness against disasters, the NDRF team visited Suncity and conducted mock rescue operations for students and staff in Resonance on 4th and 5th August, 2016 to effectively respond and undertake measures during any kind of a calamity-natural or man made.
The Deputy Commandant of 11 NDRF, Devendra kumar came equipped with his team of officers along with other resources needed to sensitise people about such rescue measures. The team was formally welcomed by Mrs- Archana Singh, Principal Sunbeam Suncity and the session opened with the officers giving valuable lessons through PPTs.During the mock rescue operations, they demonstrated how to rescue people from drowning (the pond at Suncity proved quite a boon), how to resuscitate someone through CP
R, how to carry the injured from the spot of a disaster and other rescue measures. Students participated in each drill enthusiastically and asked questions too to the officers who conducted the session. During an interview with the Editorial Board, the Dy. Commandant said that it is absolutely imperative to educate the students because they are the strength of the nation and each child will further make others in his/her family aware once one is trained through such sessions.
Later before ending the session, the team also conducted a mock drill of evacuating the school building when earthquake hits or in case of similar danger.
