Decline of State/UT Data and use of premature UDISE data in RMSA is threat to Country’s education system

Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) was launched in 2009 with the bjective to enhance access to secondary education and improve its quality. The scheme envisages, inter alia, enhancing enrolment at secondary stage by providing a secondary school within a reasonable distance of any habitation with an objective to ensure GER over 90% by the end of the 12 Plan period and universal retention by 2020. The other objectives include improving quality of education imparted at secondary level through making all secondary schools conform to prescribed norms, removing gender, socio-economic and disability barriers etc.

Sources of Funding of National Political Parties: for FY 2004-05 to 2011-12

Where do the National Political parties get their funds from? An analysis of their Income Tax returns and statements filed with the Election Commission shows that the sources remain largely unknown. Over 75% of the funds cannot be traced and are from ‘unknown’ sources. This becomes very relevant in the light of recent events when the National Political Parties were brought under the RTI Act by a CIC ruling. Unfortunately, full transparency is not possible under the current laws, and it is only the RTI that can keep citizens informed.

: Jal satyagraha ongoing at 6 places in three districts : Delegation of oustees meets Mrs. Sushma Swaraj : Oustees should also be beneficiaries of development projects : Since the last ten days, a historic civil disobedience movement is being carried out by thousands of oustees of the Districts Dewas, Khandwa, and Harda of Madhya Pradesh affected by the Indira Sagar dam which has the largest impoundment in the country. Although the State has tried to crush the movement by declaring S.144 on the waters of the Indira Sagar dam, but in all three districts, thousands of oustees have broken S.144 and offered arrests, and spread Jal satyagraha further. Thus Jal satyagraha is being carried out in 6 places with full vigor and determination. The Narmada Bachao Andolan demands that instead of using police force on the people, the State Government should fulfill their legitimate demands and undo the historic injustice that has been wreaked on them.

During reading of these articles, I came to know that these articles contain the images of previously published articles of the same group which is the clear cut copyright act. These images are merely the cut paste with a little bit modification. This is not only the violation of ethics and values in research but is plagiarism also. This act of such a group which is well reputed for research on hydrogen storage brings shame not only for their group and institution but for nation and whole science community as well. Nagpur police nab bogus Sahara Samay scribe who blackmailed people for extortion of money

Nagpur News: Finally, the bogus journalist, who himself introduced as Sahara Samay TV News Channel Sub-Editor and blackmailed and cheated dozens of people, fell into police dragnet. The Tehsil Police arrested the fake journalist when Sahara Samay came to know about the “journalist,” who blackmailed some prominent personalities by doling out threats of “exposing” them and extorting money. Kripalu in his bed, where he has raped uncountable young girls. This week I received a letter that a young girl in India wrote about five years ago and sent to an ex-devotee of Kripalu Maharaj. This letter was forwarded to me with permission to publish it on my blog in order to continue educating people about the truth of the wicked Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat organization. However, I am not using her name, and you will understand why. I must warn you that this letter is very explicit and very disturbing. The young woman who wrote it is Indian and confesses that she does not have a full grasp of English. I left her words as is, rather than correct them, because they are her words and they are very powerful. I do not want to adulterate them. I did add English translations of the Hindi phrases she used, which were words Kripalu said to her while raping her. I know what I think of this. Please share your thoughts.

The Coordination of Democratic Rights Organisations (CDRO) strongly condemns the arrest of Prashant Rahi and Hem Mishra, accusing them of Naxal links. Though the exact date of Hem Mishra’s arrest is yet to be ascertained, he was most probably picked up by the police around  around 15th  August. Prashant Rahi was on the other hand was arrested on the 2nd September. The allegation against both of them is that they were carrying some documents/ literature.

Hem was till recently, a student of JNU, in BA Chinese and a known student and cultural activist. He was abducted by the Maharashtra police sometimes around 20th August, kept in illegal custody for some days and then sent to ten days of police remand, which has now been shockingly extended.

All the organizations unitedly condemned the arrest and demanded their immediate release. Hem's father KD MIshra who had visited Hem, informed that Hem was picked up on 20th august from Ballarshah in MAharashtra, the police informed them on 23rd august, produced him in court on 24th august, and shown the arrest from Aheri. Hem was also tortured in the first three days of illegal custody and now he has been booked under UAPA, Section 120 (B) of IPC and sedition charges. The police are still refusing him to meet his lawyer till he is in Police custody.

Sometime between the 20th and the 23rd of August, Hem Mishra, who was till very recently a student of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and is a member of Democratic Students’ Union (DSU) and Revolutionary Cultural Front (RCF) was illegally arrested and detained by the Maharashtra State Police. At the beginning, the police did not produce him within 24 hours of his arrest. Later after being pressurised by media persons they acknowledged that he has been arrested as a ‘prominent Naxal Courier’. This is a ludicrous claim. Hem is a known students and cultural activist in Uttarakhand and Delhi who has been working for the people by raising social issues since his early days in student activism.
