Massive media campaigns have been launched all over to create public awareness on diseases, still they continue to spread and pose a threat to millions of people. Why is it so?

However, over the centuries, our music has incorporated inputs from multiple sources and has enriched itself with confluence of different traditions that met in the Indian subcontinent. Our instruments have held their own even in times of digital and techno driven musical instruments. Indian classical music is a true representative of our rich identity,” says Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia.
“In recent years there has been an animated debate on whether our classical music is losing out to the modern pop culture. The indefinite hunger-strike of Irom Sharmila against the AFSPA would complete its 15th year soon.
The state impunity on violence against our own people continues till date.
04 November 2015, from 9am to 5pm, Samta Sthal, Opp. Raj Ghat, New Delhi
Irom Sharmila, since she was a teenager has been demanding removal of armed forces from India’s North-East for last 15 years. The country and in fact the whole world has recognised her struggle and sympathised with her demand. But no government has tried to open a dialogue with her. The same governments talk to the extremists. In the past, we have seen governments talking to the armed insurgents but they have not talked to Irom as they do not have answers to her simple questions.

5 simple styling tips to make your child look modish!

When Shivani’s daughter was 4 years old, she used to love wearing a bright-colored lehenga style skirt paired with a purple t-shirt with Mickey Mouse prints along with bangles. Did it match? No. Did she feel happy in her attire? Absolutely! She used to love sporting this look while going for walks with her mom. Her styling used to attract strange looks from the parents of kids in her age group, who probably thought that Shivani hardly paid attention to her daughter’s dressing style. When children are very young, they often have little opinion on what clothes they like. Sometimes they may have a favourite shirt or dress, but otherwise they wear whatever their parents buy them. The question here arises, ‘How should I dress my child to make him/her look stylish?’ Well, simply follow the guidelines below and you will never go wrong!

Dont make india the Rape capital of the world
One thing is clear that some sick men in india believe that raping
small childrens and doing gang rapes is their constitutional

When ever a gang rape or sexual assualt on a child takes place, media
would carry this news from morning to

Panjab University violates UGC norms in recruitment:

Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg,
New Delhi-110002. Email: jssandhu.ugc@nic.in, renu.ugc@nic.in
Sub: Financial Fraud: Misappropriation of public funds to benefit favourites
Panjab University defies UGC Regulations, 2013 (2nd Amendment) again:
Bypasses Categories I & II of API Score) in direct recruitment of
Professors & Associate Professors
Sir,
You are aware that the Panjab University had earlier brushed UGC
Regulations, 2013 (2nd Amendment) on “CAPPING” under the carpet to
give undue promotions under CAS to the ineligible favourites,
misappropriating public exchequer without any checks and controls.
Although the Governing Bodies (Senate & Syndicate) had approved these
financial irregularities, but thanks to the cognizance taken by the
Audit Department of Chandigarh Administration and subsequent denial of
UGC to allow any dilution in its norms that the illegal action of
Panjab University stood unapproved and the University has been
directed to implement “Capping” and review all promotions with
recovery of money that has been illegally released to the ineligible
promotees.
However, since the Vice-Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover and all
other offenders whosoever were involved in such financial
irregularities have managed to go scot free without facing action for
their acts of commission and omission, this has encouraged the higher
authorities of the University to acquire immunity from facing action
and commit further such financial irregularities again, as narrated

Anybody having an animal brain, will have only animal instincts
Jagdish Singh : Being a post graduate in bio sciences, I can clearly, emphatically and undoubtably say that an elephant's head can not be fixed to a human body. Even if I become stupid for a moment and accept this as a possibility, I m still completely sure that an animal's head will contain only an animal brain, which will be thousands time inferior to that of humans. Anybody having an animal brain, will have only animal instincts. He can not read, write or speak.

Letter to Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi
29.08.2015.
Honorable Narendra Modi
Prime Minister of India
New Delhi.
Dear Sir,
We thought that you are different from others who are egoists and carried away by yes men and flattery. It appears now things are going the other way. Your ministers are giving sermons about honesty and pointing out others faults only ignoring their own. Last Parliament Session ended like women quarrelling for water at public taps. Even our President expressed his anguish by telling that our Parliament has been converted into an arena of combat rather than debate. This is not a sign of good governance. Since we are living in Andhra Pradesh(AP) we can give examples from this state, that does not mean other states are better.

Civil Society Organizations will meet with State Education Ministers to oppose the Rollback of “No Detention Policy”
Press Release
28 August 2015, New Delhi, RTE Forum. Civil Society organizations, educationists and NGOs have demanded to retain NO Detention Policy and strengthening of RTE Act, 2009 to avoid drop outs and increase the number of children out of schools. A collective meeting of different organizations was held today at Durga Bai Deshmukh Hall, Lodi estate, New Delhi. Meeting has resolved that “this is a myth that quality of education is compromised due to the introduction of policy of No Detention of children in the same class till completion of class 8 otherwise termed as elementary education. Such a view has been expressed by few members of CABE and Bhukkal Committee. But it is important to note in this context that several studies reveal that even after five years of the enactment of the RTE Act, 2009 less than 10% schools are RTE complaint; CCE is not implemented in true sense, 1.2 Million teacher posts are vacant across the country, teacher training institutes are paralyzed and more than 8% schools are single teacher school. Then, how can one claim that learning level is not improved while complete implementation of the RTE Act in letter and spirit is still miles away from its goals?”

Then, how can one claim that learning level is not improved while complete implementation of the RTE Act in letter and spirit is still miles away from its goals?”

-There are only a handful of authors in north India who write research-based, factual articles from the Bahujan point of view
- Writings with a focus on the interests of OBCs, Tribals and Dalitsare also negligible
- The perspectives and the conclusions of most of the so-called analyses of Bahujan issues published in various news media platforms are inspired by Dwij values

CONFERENCE ON “ENDING TORTURE: COLLECTIVE CONCERN”
Dear Sir/Madam,
Greetings from PVCHR and NATT.
Torture, practiced by states, non -state actors and sometimes together, continues to be a global problem. Despite global resolve for its prevention, it continues to be an accepted and practiced tool for dominance. While the definition of torture is contested among organisations and academicians, what is agreed is that torture involves both physical and psychological methods of causing pain, distress or harm. Limited project based findings have highlighted the scale of its prevalence and institutional shortcomings in preventing torture, accessing justice and rehabilitation of the survivors. Unwillingness by the states to recognize its prevalence and address it has strained relationship between state and citizens.

In such cases the foetal sac is formed in Cervix (the lower end of the uterus) and is associated with morbidity and disastrous effects on the future aspects of the patient’s fertility. Green Electricity: Technology makes the difference

As per an estimate, urban India generates 188,500 tonnes of municipal solid waste per day - 68.8 million tones per year and expected to grow at 1.3% per capita p.a. - and waste generation increases by 50% every decade. Some of this waste will be recovered by informal recyclers - 20% in large cities and less in smaller cities. However, more than 80% reaches open dumpsites where it causes damaging public health, deteriorating the environment, and causes climate change. With the growing urbanization, the quantity of domestic waste that is going to be generated would be alarming.

Believe Ayurveda is not meant for you? Think again!
Ayurveda has been widely recognized as a system of natural healthcare congenial to the health needs of the modern world says Dr. Partap Chauhan, Ayurvedacharya & Director Jiva Ayurveda
However, despite its increasing popularity across the globe, many people (especially the youth) are often hesitant in approaching Ayurveda. The reasons could be manifold - lack of awareness about this ancient science, easy availability of modern medicine, and the youth's obsession with so-called quick-fix solutions, among others. More than anything else, what has hampered Ayurveda's reach among the youth is the many misconceptions that engulf its existence.

THE ECONOMICS OF NET NEUTRALITY : Enforcing Net Neutrality: A continuous monitoring challenge
New Delh : The Indian Legal Foundation (TILF) in association with Grandmasters India conducted a Brainstorming and Forum Discussion in India Habitat Center, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. This day-long session focused on the various aspects of Net Neutrality. As the Department of Telecom (DoT) panel lead by Shri A.K. Bhargava released its report on Net Neutrality, there still remained concerns among the Free Internet proponents about the enforcement of Principles of Net Neutrality. The DoT panel suggestions on enforcing Net Neutrality included enacting a law, amending Licensing Conditions, creating a DoT monitoring cell and also creating training institutions to monitor Net Neutrality violations. However, all of these seem to be soft approaches for bigger violations that impact Principles of Net Neutrality. There seems to be no recommendations on quantum of penalty or punishments in case of deliberate violations on Net Neutrality.
